At the season-opening round of the 2026 Xiaomi China GT Championship held from April 17 to 19, a record-high field of 57 race cars and 108 elite drivers gathered at Shanghai’s F1 circuit. Over 40,000 on-site spectators and more than 66 million online viewers tuned in to witness the high-caliber showdowns of the weekend.

Porsche is the sole manufacturer with entries across the GT3, GTC and GTS classes. Its latest 911 GT3 R EVO GT3 racer made its Chinese track debut at the Shanghai opening round. Across the four completed GT3 feature races so far, the 911 GT3 R (EVO) claimed overall victory in three rounds. The Porsche 911 GT3 Cup competes in the GTC category and secured two class titles at the Ningbo round. In the GTS class, the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport delivered a dominant double win during the Shanghai event.

Luxury Grid of 10 Entries

610 Racing fielded an impressive fleet of 10 race cars at the Shanghai round, emerging as the largest team by entry size in the 2026 Xiaomi China GT Championship this season. Its formidable lineup comprised five GT3-spec machines: two Porsche 911 GT3 R EVOs, two Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO IIs and one BMW M4 GT3 EVO, alongside five Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars competing in the GTC class.
The team maintained a dominant presence at the Ningbo round, with its roster only trimmed by one Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car compared with the Shanghai event.

3 Overall Victories

Yuan Bo of Winhere Origine Motorsport has claimed three overall victories out of four GT3 feature races since the season opener, sitting atop the drivers’ standings with 75 points. A winner of the Shanghai 8 Hours and Sepang 12 Hours endurance races, as well as the overall champion of Asia’s premier GT series over the past two campaigns, the vastly experienced Yuan Bo has instantly displayed formidable competitiveness upon his return to domestic competition.
He teamed up with rising star Deng Yi to deliver a winning start for Winhere Origine Motorsport in the opening feature race. Moving on to Ningbo, he reunited with his long-time co-driver Ye Hongli to form a formidable all-star pairing. The pair led from flag to flag to sweep two overall wins, wrapping up their trip to Ningbo with a flawless record.

4 Crews Claim Double Class Wins

Four crews have pulled off the feat of sweeping two race wins at a single round this season. Aside from the aforementioned pairing of Yuan Bo and Ye Hongli, Feng Shaolun / Huang Xiaofeng from Harmony Racing locked up both race victories in the GTC class at Shanghai, while Moritz Berrenberg of Maxmore W&S Motorsport claimed a double win in the GTS category at the same event. He Zhengquan from Team KRC also stood atop the podium twice in the GTS class during the Ningbo weekend.

Car No.328: The Only AM GT3 Crew to Finish in Overall Top 3

Li Hanyu and Ou Ziyang of GAHA Racing, piloting the No.328 BMW M4 GT3 EVO, are the only non-PA GT3 crew to have stepped onto the overall GT3 podium so far this season. This AM-rated GT3 pairing delivered an outstanding performance in Race 2 at the Shanghai round to claim the overall third-place trophy.
